When will my mail be picked up?

We will pick up and process your mail each business day. We'll add your single (or multiple) pick up location(s) to one of our many routes and our driver will pick up your mail at the same scheduled time every day. We even pick up on most holidays - even when the US Post Office is closed and not delivering your mail - so your critical First Class business mail still gets processed and shipped out that day. Am I required to sign a contract?

No. Our clients continue to use us because we provide great daily service and reduce their mail processing costs - not because they are locked into long-term contract obligations. Back to Top

Do I need to buy anything?

No, your mailroom savings start immediately! There is no need for you to buy or lease another postage meter, purchase meter ink, supplies or ongoing maintenance agreements, or spend money on internal labor to process your mail. Just place your daily mail into trays or bags that we provide and we'll pick up and meter your mail for you. It's that simple! Back to Top

What do you need from me to get started?

Just some basic contact information and a check to fund your Postage Deposit Account. You maintain a positive balance in your postage account at United Business Mail, just like you would for a postage meter. To start, we would need a check for 4-6 weeks worth of postage. Our driver can even pick up that check on your first day of service! Back to Top

How do you track my postage funds?

We will set up and manage a Postage Deposit Account for your postage funds. As we process your mail, we will deduct that day's used postage amount from your balance. Early each month you will receive a Balance Statement, much like a bank statement, that will show the beginning balance, deposits made, postage withdrawn and ending balance for the previous month. This monthly summary also shows the number of pieces processed for each of the 1-4 ounce weight categories. Back to Top

Will you only take my First Class mail?

We'll pick up and process ALL your mail - including first class letters, flats, packages, certified and registered mail, even personal mail that already has a stamp on it! No restrictions, no exceptions! Back to Top

What postage rate will I pay?

All postage deducted from your Postage Deposit Account will be at regular First Class rate. Back to Top

Are there any daily courier or pick up fees?

No. United Business Mail does not add on transportation fees like "courier pick-up" or "fuel surcharge fees" to your bill. Back to Top

What if we need departmental charge-backs?

We do provide documentation for departmental charge-backs for those customers who require it, at an additional charge. At the end of each month we'll provide a master Balance Statement showing all sub-accounts on one simple spreadsheet. Back to Top

What happens to my mail after your driver receives it?

Each day, after we pick up your mail and deliver it to our Mail Operations Center, it is logged and tagged for quality control, accurately weighed and the appropriate postage is applied. Then we pass your mail through our Multi-Line OCR machines to verify the deliverability of the address, spray a barcode and sort the mail by zip code for the USPS. At this time, your mail is combined, or "commingled" with other letters going to the same city destination. This presorting process adds substantial efficiency for postal delivery and this combined mail now qualifies for high volume postal discounts, which essentially pays for the service we provide to you. Will my mail be sent First Class?

YES! Your critical business mail will be sent as First Class "Presort" mail, still handled and delivered as First Class by the Post Office. Not only does your First Class mail get processed the very day you release it to us, but it will be loaded onto a USPS truck that night. You'll get accelerated delivery, with no additional cost. That's great service! Back to Top

Is my mail secure?

Yes. Your mail is picked up by our dedicated drivers in our fleet of company-owned trucks and brought to our secure facility for processing. USPS employees are on-site at our Mail Operations Center every night to verify our quality control and data accuracy. After your mail is processed and accepted by the USPS, it is loaded directly onto USPS trucks that back up to our loading docks each night. Back to Top
